Role Profile

We're currently seeking motivated and dependable General Operatives to join our team at our Chilled Foods Plant in Kilkenny City (Kilkenny Food Company) during our busiest production season.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain valuable manufacturing experience, work as part of a supportive team, and contribute to the production of high-quality food products.

 

The Opportunity

  • 6-month fixed-term contract
  • Working from September 2026 to March 2027
  • 40 hours per week
  • Rotating 3-shift pattern (days, evenings and nights)
  • Located at Thomas Street, Kilkenny City

 

What You'll Be Doing

As a General Operative, you'll play an important role in ensuring our products are produced safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. Here, you'll:

  • Support daily production activities within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment
  • Follow food safety and quality procedures, including Critical Control Point (CCP) requirements
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and plant hygiene
  • Complete Cleaning-in-Place (CIP) processes where required
  • Adhere to all health, safety and environmental procedures
  • Accurate complete production documentation and records
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve production targets

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, food production or factory environment
  • Manual Handling certification
  • Forklift licence/certification
