Role Profile

We are currently recruiting a financial accountant on a temporary basis, to join a dynamic team within Tirlán. This role will report to the Accounting & Reporting Overheads Manager, based in Kilkenny, and will focus on preparation & reporting of statutory accounts for Overheads.  The successful candidate will work within a busy team to safeguard the accuracy and integrity of the reported financial information and gain invaluable experience and knowledge within a large and complex business.

 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the accounting, reporting & control activity in relation to assigned areas of responsibility within manufacturing, supply chain and support functions overhead categories.
  • Ensure robust month-end close as part of the management reporting cycle for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Support the delivery of accurate & timely monthly management accounts for assigned cost areas via detailed review, ensuring completeness of GL entries and posting of accruals / prepayments to reflect outstanding items, in compliance with company accounting policy.  
  • Perform analysis & commentary of monthly statutory accounts & report these to Senior Finance Manager & individual Plant managers.
  • Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts for all overhead cost centres.
  • Support purchasing compliance & control.
  • Work collaboratively with the new Transformation team to drive process improvement & finance automation for the new Tirlán reporting structure.
  • Preparation & analysis of Balance sheet for both accruals & prepayments on a monthly basis.
  • Input into schedules required for statutory reporting and tax compliance.
  • Liaise with both internal and external auditors as required.
  • Complete & support grant applications to government bodies.

 

Requirements

  • Degree qualified with professional accounting qualification – a minimum of 3 years PQE required
  • Experience in a large multinational company environment advantageous
  • Curiosity to learn, improve and challenge processes
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Process driven individual with ability to identify and implement streamlining opportunities in a continuous improvement environment
  • Strong operational acumen
  • Advanced knowledge & proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel would be an advantage to build and maintain detailed models.
